Triptychs
A triptych is a work of art which is divided into 3 sections, formed of mainly either photographs, paintings or carvings. The centre image of the 3 panels is typically the largest, however it isn’t uncommon for all the panels to be of the same size. The images used within a triptych are designed so they can be viewed separately or as an entire image.
A triptych, in the photographic form, can be separated into 3 images after a single image has been taken, or they can be individually taken prior to forming the triptych. A triptych can be formed by hand, traditionally, using scissors and possibly a back panel or it could be generated through the use of photoshop.
